You have probably played a version of this game at some time in the past, probably on your mobile phone. This tutorial shows you how to set up a basic version in Game Maker.

Game Resources

This tutorial is more focused on the scripting required to make the classic game, Snake. The resources here are to save time when getting the basic game going, they should be replaced when the main interactions have been sorted.

You will need to copy the following resources to your user space in order to make this game. Click with the right mouse button on each of the links below and choose to Save Target As.

Graphics

• head.bmp - graphic for the head of the snake
• body.bmp - graphic for the snake body
• munchie.bmp - something for the snake to eat

Sounds

• ping.wav - a ping noise for when the snake eats the food
