Game Maker 7.0

About These Pages

These web pages have been created to support students in the use of the Game Maker software.

Each Game Tutorial is a step-by-step guide to making a basic game. The games are basic working versions only. The finished article takes a little bit longer, but it is hoped that you will use the tutorials as a starting point and reference as you learn more about making games.

The Catch The Clown game was designed by Mark Overmars, designer of the Game Maker software and co-author of The Game Maker's Apprentice: Game Development for Beginners, Apress, 2006, ISBN 1-59059-615-3. His tutorial has been simplified but is worth reading and can be downloaded free from the http://www.yoyogames.com web site.

The other games were designed from scratch based on classic games or silly ideas. Some of the graphics were found on the WWW, all believed to be royalty free.
